Must do in Puerto Rico

puerto rico beach

If you’re looking for things to do in Puerto Rico, you should know that the list is huge. There’s a reason why Puerto Rico is considered one of the best vacation spots in the Caribbean. Not only does it offer tons of attractions, but it also boasts a dual nature that has been fascinating visitors for centuries.

Who should I go with to Puerto Rico?

On one hand, Puerto Rico is a mecca for honeymooners. There’s sun, surf, rum and romantic beaches with gorgeous sunsets.

On the other hand, there’s a deeper side to Puerto Rico. It has some of the oldest, most carefully-preserved architecture in the world, and it’s filled with landmarks of great cultural and historical value.

You can learn a lot about pre-Columbian civilization with a trip to its museums, galleries, churches, cathedrals and military fortresses.

BUT! It’s also perfect for the more adventurous kinds. You can swim in beautiful beaches and zip-line through exotic rainforests; you can jump from towering cliffs and descend into creepy underground caves. There’s no limit to cool experiences to have on the island.

Which Puerto Rico do you want to see? What kind of trip do you want to have in the Caribbean?

What you can't miss

There are a few things you cannot miss when you visit Puerto Rico, these are all my favourite things!

Bioluminescent Kayaking

You cannot miss this wonder of nature! These unique bays are little plankton illuminating in the moonlight. This is perfect for both a romantic scenery and a unique adventure with friends.

Kayaking in these waters are a unique experience you will rarely get to experience anywhere else in the world.

Visit the Capital San Juan

I love cities, they are the best way to really immerse yourself in the local cultural. I strongly recommend doing a guided tour. The cobbled old town of San Juan features colourful Spanish colonial buildings and 16th-century monuments, including El Morro and La Fortaleza, a large fortress overlooking the sea and the Paseo de la Princesa. Simply a MUST!

Snorkelling in this paradise

Explore the bays, cliffs and mangrove coves around the island. Sail out of the beach or take a boat trip where sea turtles, tropical fish and colourful lighthouses await you right below.

The Puerto Rico archipelago offers beautiful snorkelling spots in calm waters with diverse marine life. Some cliffs are easy to swim from the beach, while others are just a boat ride away – the perfect excuse for all-day sailing and snorkelling!
